Franklin Drive Thru Safari in Franklin TX

For Mother's Day I like to go to the zoo but because of COVID it is currently closed. Instead we decided to try out the Franklin drive thru Safari. It is approximately two hours from Houston. I put the wrong address into GPS so we went the wrong way, but we were only lost for about ten minutes. It worked out in our favor because we were able to avoid the long line. Be prepared for that. It isn't terrible and once you are inside, you will be glad you waited.

The park is $15.00 a person and the feed for the animals is $2 or $3 per cup. We bought three cups and had enough for the entire safari.

When you enter the Safari, you are able to get down and feed the giraffes. There is also a reptile and monkey section you can walk to and see them up. close. Due to COVID we stayed away from the reptile section which had lots of people. Most people didn't seem concerned, and everyone looked like they were having a good time. My Lailah was very paranoid, so we respected that and tried to stay away from people as much as possible.

The animals get pretty close to your car which is fun. One hit our car and the car shook! Everyone laughed and was just having a blast with it. I was scared to feed them out of my hand, they are way too big for my taste. I guess I'm a chicken! LOL. I think we were there about an hour and half and then we drove back home. It was a perfect day out and I'm glad we went. I was even my grateful for Carlos for driving to and from LOL. Best Mothers Day part 1. :)
